State and Federal Crime Definitions
Introduction
The Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act (VAWA) was signed into law in March, 2013 by President Obama. The law imposes new regulations on colleges and universities related to sexual misconduct including additional crime reporting categories, changes in student conduct processes, and training and educational activities. There are several Illinois state laws and federal laws pertaining to sexual violence.
